For me, design has always been about people before spaces.
I’m Michal Matalon, an interior designer specializing in private residences, boutique hotels, and conservation projects. My background combines analytical thinking and creative vision, with a B.Sc. in Industrial Engineering from the Technion and professional studies in interior design and architecture at Berzin Shoham Studio.
I’m drawn to projects with character and story - from private homes and boutique hospitality spaces to historic buildings that deserve to be preserved with sensitivity and thoughtfully adapted to modern living.
I believe great design is created through listening: understanding the people, the lifestyle, and the details that make a space feel personal, timeless, and authentic.
Alongside the creative process, I place great importance on precision and planning. My studio provides end-to-end guidance, including highly detailed technical plans that integrate every selected material, specification, and design decision into one clear and cohesive execution process.
Building or renovating can feel overwhelming, and my goal is to make that journey feel organized, calm, and enjoyable - while creating spaces that are elegant, functional, and deeply connected to the people who use them.
